Internet services disrupted in Lahore, other cities across Punjab: NetBlocks

PESHAWAR: Due to security concerns, mobile phone services will remain suspended in Peshawar on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

According to a police spokesperson, the services will be shut down after Friday prayers on the 8th of Muharram and will resume after 10 pm on Ashura Day (Sunday).

The measure is part of special security arrangements for Muharram processions. The police stated that this step will help strengthen security along procession routes, enhance surveillance in sensitive areas, and prevent any untoward incidents.

Additionally, security agencies will monitor processions using drone cameras, CCTV, and modern technology to maintain peace and order.
