Strong Earthquake Jolts Islamabad, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa; Panic Spreads

A powerful 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck the federal capital Islamabad and parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) in the early hours of Saturday morning, sending residents into panic. The tremors, which occurred at 2:03 a.m., were felt across multiple districts, including Peshawar, Batkhela, Takht Bhai, Lower Dir, Buner, Dir, Bajaur, and Rustam.

According to seismic data, the quake originated in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan at a depth of 102 kilometers, with its epicenter located at latitude 36.05°N and longitude 69.95°E. The strong shaking caused widespread alarm, with many people rushing out of their homes in fear.

No immediate reports of major damage or casualties have been confirmed, but authorities are assessing the situation. Residents in affected areas reported intense vibrations that lasted several seconds.
