PESHAWAR: A 5.9-magnitude earthquake shook parts of Pakistan on Saturday.
According to reports, several cities across Pakistan, including the federal capital Islamabad and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, were jolted by an earthquake, causing panic and concern among citizens.
The earthquake, with a depth of 94 kilometers, struck the country at 11:50 am, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC).
The quake was 94 km deep, and strong tremors were also felt in parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Punjab.
No loss of life or property has been reported so far.
Cities of Punjab, including Attock, Rawalpindi and Chakwal, also reported tremors in the region. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, jolts were felt in Peshawar, Mardan, Mohmand, Swabi, Nowshera, Lakki Marwat, Lower Dir, Malakand, Shabqadar and other cities.
