PESHAWAR:Advisor to Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ehtesham Ali expressed gratitude and lauded the competence of the Turkish foreign medical team for carrying out complex surgeries of the poor patients at Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar.
He attended a special ceremony at Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) as a guest to honour, marking the successful completion of 70 complex paediatric cardiac surgeries performed by a team of ten expert cardiac surgeons from Turkey. In his address at the event, Ehtesham Ali warmly welcomed the delegation of Turkish doctors on behalf of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. He praised the LRH paediatric unit for reaching yet another milestone through these life-saving surgeries. “Today, I stand with immense pride as we have saved the lives of seventy young children,” he said. He further lauded the visiting doctors for skilfully carrying out complicated heart surgeries under the “Little Heart Mission,” giving these children a new lease of life. The children operated on belonged to various regions of Pakistan, with the majority from Peshawar.
Ehtesham Ali also expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Naif, CEO of Montada Aid, and his entire team for their dedication in making this mission a success. The visiting Turkish surgeons performed seventy complex heart surgeries on children during their stay. Montada Aid, operating across fourteen countries, has conducted over fifty missions and more than three thousand surgeries, saving thousands of young lives globally. This mission has not only helped children but has also enhanced the capacity and expertise of the hospital staff. “Thanks to this collaboration, our cardiac surgeons will now be better equipped to perform such complex surgical procedures in the future,” Ehtesham Ali remarked.
He congratulated the hospital administration and all staff members involved in the mission for their remarkable success. He said that to reduce patient load at Lady Reading Hospital, efforts are underway to strengthen the capacity of district headquarters hospitals.
