MANSEHRA: The Anti-Corruption Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday arrested senior officers and officials for illegal cutting of forest trees.
As per details, the officials of the Mansehra forest department were involved in this illegal cutting of precious wood and financial scam.
An inquiry found they caused damage worth Rs 29,836,531. Authorities registered an FIR against them.
After the FIR, the Anti-Corruption Department arrested eight officials. They include Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Saran Jawad Mumtaz, former DFO Saran Mudassar Hassan, SDFO Jeori Mamoon Khan, Range Officer Muhammad Alam, Forest Guard Waqar Bakht, Forest Guard Rehmat Ali, Forest Guard Zeeshan, and former Forester Niaz Shah.
