Broader Green Goals
According to Programme Head Rizwana Anjum, the government aims to convert 2,000 petrol bikes this fiscal year—removing nearly 8,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually from Punjab’s roads. The larger objective is to convert 30% of the province’s transport fleet to electric by 2030, reducing transport-related emissions by 20%.
Launched on May 7, 2025, by Senior Minister Mariyum Aurangzeb, the Green Credit Program offers citizens Rs10,000 credits for eco-friendly actions, including tree planting and solar panel installation.
This incentive is more than just a subsidy, it’s a step toward sustainable living and economic relief for Punjab’s citizens.
