Emergency response activated as fire hits Qazi Medical Complex, patients moved to Mardan

NOWSHERA: A fire broke out in the basement of Qazi Medical Complex in Nowshera, prompting emergency measures. Rescue teams quickly responded, bringing the fire under control, though smoke lingered in the area.

As a precaution, 25 patients—including 18 children (14 newborns and 4 older children) and 7 adults—were shifted to Mardan Medical Complex (MMC). The hospital administration declared an emergency, recalling medical staff and preparing emergency services.

Rescue 1122 officials confirmed no casualties, with firefighting and smoke clearance operations ongoing. District Emergency Officer Malik Ashfaq supervised the response, while ambulances remained on standby.
