Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly criticized Israel’s recent attacks on Syria, calling it a “lawless, reckless, and unprincipled terrorist state.” He reiterated Turkey’s commitment to preserving Syria’s sovereignty and territorial unity.
In a sharp statement, Erdogan accused Israel of using the Druze minority as an excuse to escalate military operations in Syria, warning that such actions threaten regional stability. “We did not allow Syria to be divided in the past, and we won’t allow it now or in the future,” he declared.
Erdogan also cautioned countries supporting Israel, saying they would “soon realize their grave mistake.” His remarks come after Israeli airstrikes targeted Damascus, the Druze Mountains, and the Golan Heights. Israel claims its operations aim to protect the Druze community—a justification Erdogan dismissed as false.
