ChARSADDA:A dangerous proclaimed offender was arrested in an injured condition after a fierce exchange of fire with city police in Atmanzai on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off about the criminal’s hideout, a heavy police contingent raided the area. As soon as the accused, identified as Habibullah, son of Muhammad Allah from Sarwakle, spotted the police, he opened fire. The officers retaliated in self-defense, injuring and apprehending him.
Police recovered a pistol from his possession. Habibullah was wanted in five serious cases, including drug trafficking, car theft, and robbery, registered at Sarwakle Police Station.
This is not his first arrest—he has a long criminal history with pending court cases related to drugs, arms possession, theft, and carlifting.
