Excise police foil two drug smuggling attempts in Mardan

MARDAN: Excise Police Station Mardan Region successfully stopped two major drug smuggling attempts in separate operations in the district on Wednesday.

In the first operation on Mardan Charsadda Road, officers arrested a burqa-clad man and his accomplice.

The excise police said that the suspects tried to smuggle 6,000 grams of hashish. Excise officials identified them as Muhammad Naushad, a resident of Akakhel Bara, and Waqas Ahmed, a resident of Orakzai District.

In the second operation, a female smuggler was caught on the same road. A lady constable searched her and found 2,000 grams of heroin and 490 grams of ice.

Excise Police have registered separate cases and started further investigations.
