Explosion in gas pipeline causes panic in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: An explosion in a gas pipeline in Jehangir Abad area of Peshawar caused panic among local residents here on Wednesday.

According to Station House Officer (SHO) Zainul Abidin, the explosion happened within the jurisdiction of the Town police station during the evening. Fortunately, there were no reports of human casualties or injuries.

SHO said the police quickly cordoned off the area and redirected traffic on University Road to facilitate the repair of the damaged pipeline.

Residents reported hearing the explosion, which initially caused alarm, but they were relieved to learn that it was only a gas pipeline incident.
