Loud Explosions Reported on Walton Road as Indian Drone Shot Down: Police
A series of loud explosions were heard on Walton Road in Lahore on Thursday morning, causing panic among residents, according to police officials.
The blasts occurred in the Gopal Nagar and Naseerabad areas near Walton Airport. Eyewitnesses reported seeing clouds of smoke as people rushed out of their homes in fear.
Police sources claimed that an Indian drone, measuring between five and six feet, was intercepted and destroyed near Walton Airport. The drone, allegedly operated from across the border, was brought down using jamming technology.
According to the sources, the drone was intended for surveillance of sensitive locations and was carrying explosives. It reportedly came dangerously close to a building before being neutralized.
Police and rescue teams quickly responded to the scene on Walton Road, where the remains of the drone were recovered in the old airport area.
