The federal government has summoned a record Rs 535 billion funds from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for the fight against terrorism from 2010 to 2024.

As per details, on the Prime Minister’s orders, the Auditor General of Pakistan has decided to conduct a special audit and has asked for complete details from the provincial government.

The Auditor General’s office has requested monthly and annual reports on the funds released by the KP government for the audit. The letter outlines the need for information on how much money was released and how it was spent.

Documents obtained by Azad Digital reveal that the federal government allocated funds to KP at 1 percent of the National Finance Commission Award in 2010 for counterterrorism efforts. Sources say the provincial government is now collecting details on the funds released from the federation.

Preliminary figures show that between 2010 and 2024, over Rs 535 billion was provided for the war on terror.
