Federal minister Amir Muqam slams KP govt’s allocation of funds to Lahore bar

India fails to crush spirit of IIOJK residents fighting for self-determination: Amir Muqam

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan, and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam, has strongly criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government for allegedly misusing provincial funds.

Muqam, who also serves as the President of PML-N KP, questioned the KP Chief Minister’s decision to allocate Rs 50 million to lawyers of the Lahore Bar, calling it “injustice to the people of the province.”

“This money belongs to the public, not the Chief Minister’s father,” Muqam stated, demanding an immediate halt to such spending. He highlighted the pressing issues in KP, including schools without basic facilities and hospitals lacking proper equipment.

Reports indicate that this is the fourth time the KP government has approved such a transfer, sparking outrage among citizens who view it as discriminatory. Many argue that the funds should be used for local development rather than being diverted outside the province.

Critics have urged PTI workers to hold the Chief Minister accountable, emphasizing the need for transparency in financial decisions affecting KP’s struggling population.
