TORKHAM: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Unit has arrested an Afghan national to successfully foil an attempt to smuggle 25 Afghan passports at the Torkham border.
According to FIA spokesperson, the arrested Afghan national was identified as Subhanullah, was caught during routine immigration checks while trying to cross into Pakistan. Upon inspection, 25 Afghan passports were recovered from his possession.
FIA spokesperson further added that the recovered passports bore Tajikistan visas, indicating a possible case of human trafficking or illegal immigration.
The arrested suspects hails from Jalalabad, Afghanistan, and has been shifted to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Peshawar for further investigation.

The FIA has launched a deeper inquiry to determine the extent of the smuggling network and the intended use of the passports.
