Field Marshal Asim Munir meets PCC chief, backs crypto and AI push

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, met with Pakistan Crypto Council PCC CEO Bilal Bin Saqib to discuss the country’s digital future, focusing on blockchain, cryptocurrency, and artificial intelligence.

During the meeting, Bilal Bin Saqib highlighted Pakistan’s growing role in the global digital economy, revealing that the country’s annual crypto trade volume has surpassed $300 billion, placing it among the world’s top five fastest crypto-adopting nations. He emphasized the need to empower youth through modern technologies and secure Pakistan’s representation on international tech platforms.

Key decisions included plans to utilize Pakistan’s surplus electricity for Bitcoin mining and AI data centers, aiming to boost the digital economy. Bilal Bin Saqib will also represent Pakistan at the upcoming Bitcoin Conference 2025 in Las Vegas, showcasing the country’s blockchain advancements.

With over 50,000 IT graduates entering the workforce annually, Pakistan is laying a strong foundation for its digital future, offering new opportunities for global investors.
