RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, hosted a high-level dinner on Saturday attended by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and senior political and military leadership, symbolizing a unified national stance and collective appreciation for the armed forces.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, participants paid rich tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces, as well as to the wise leadership that guided the nation through recent challenges.
The dinner, held in recognition of the success of Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, brought together top political figures, federal and provincial leaders, senior military officials, and key government representatives. The gathering reflected a strong sense of national solidarity and appreciation for the coordination and dedication demonstrated during a critical period.
In his address, Field Marshal Munir expressed heartfelt gratitude to the political leadership for their strategic vision and acknowledged the outstanding operational synergy among the services. He particularly praised the resilience of Pakistani youth and the media, calling them a “steel wall” against India’s disinformation efforts.
The Army Chief also acknowledged the essential contributions of Pakistani scientists, engineers, and diplomats, whose professionalism was vital during the conflict.
The ISPR noted the event as a profound display of unity, resilience, and a renewed commitment to national progress.
