ISLAMABAD: A sudden fired erupted in in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, located in the Posh area of the city, which caused severe damage to a part of the building. Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire incident.

According to rescue sources, the fire broke out as a result of a short circuit, which quickly engulfed a room. Upon receiving information, several fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and took immediate action to control the fire.

Due to the timely information of the staff and the effective action of the fire brigade, they controlled the further spread of the fire in the building. A full investigation into the incident has been launched to find out the reasons for the fire and to prevent such incidents in the future.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad is a major symbol of the province’s representation in the capital, where important meetings of the provincial government are being held. Fire eruption in the building of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House is a matter of great concern for authorities, and the matter is being investigated.

Earlier to this, Ranger had entered the house when Ali Amin Gandapur had taken refuge in the building during the November 26 protest.  The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government alleged that several important installations of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House were damaged during the entry of the Rangers to the building.

In another crackdown Federal government and CDA had sealed the building for alleged violation of the rules and regulations in the construction; however, the decision was later reversed, and the house was opened for political activities due to a High Court order. The court was informed that the map of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House was approved by the CDA in 1975, and later it was built after proper architectural design.
