Fire breaks out near KP house in Abbottabad, extinguished

ABBOTTABAD: Fire broke out in the forest near Zafar Market on Taryala Road due to unknown reasons.

Upon receiving information from local residents, Rescue 1122 teams were immediately dispatched. According to the Rescue 1122 spokesperson in Abbottabad, teams faced severe difficulties due to darkness and lack of vehicle access to the site. Rescue personnel traveled on foot and began extinguishing the fire using manual and traditional methods.

The rescue teams, demonstrating professional skill, tireless effort, and bravery, eventually brought the fire completely under control. No loss of life has been reported.

The spokesperson stated that if timely action had not been taken, the fire could have spread to nearby residential areas. The public is urged to take precautionary measures regarding fire in forests and hilly areas and to immediately report any emergency to 1122.

Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution when visiting or residing near forests and mountainous areas, particularly during dry weather conditions when fire risks are elevated. Citizens are encouraged to avoid actions that might spark fires—such as discarding burning cigarette butts or lighting open flames.

Earlier to this, a wildfire in the mountainous forests of Haripur had reportedly grown out of control, affecting several miles of woodland. Due to the severity of the blaze, helicopters have been called in to assist firefighting efforts from the air.
