First partial solar eclipse of 2025 today

KARACHI: A partial solar eclipse will take place today, March 29, but it will not be visible in Pakistan, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

The eclipse will be visible in Europe, northern Asia, North and West Africa, much of North America, northern South America, the Atlantic, and the Arctic.

As per the department, the eclipse will begin at 13:51 PST, reach its maximum phase at 15:47 PST, and conclude at 17:44 PST.

The next solar eclipse will occur on September 21-22, visible from southern Australia, the Pacific, the Atlantic, and Antarctica. Like today’s event, this eclipse will also not be visible in Pakistan.

Earlier this month, the first total lunar eclipse of the year was observed. It was visible across Europe, much of Asia, Australia, Africa, North and South America, and polar regions.
