Five soldiers of Indian army killed in friendly firing in occupied Kashmir

BARAMULA: Five soldiers of the Indian army hailing from the Sikh community killed in a friendly firing between two units on the Line of Control in occupied Kashmir.

According to details, five Sikh soldiers were killed in an exchange of fire between two units of the Indian Army near the Line of Control in Baramulla district of occupied Kashmir, which has raised serious questions about the professionalism of the Indian Army.

The incident took place at Japala Bridge on the intervening night of April 25-26 when the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire on the Thirteen Sikh Light Infantry Regiment of the Twelve Brigade during a patrol based on a misunderstanding. As a result, five Sikh personnel died on the spot.

According to sources, other personnel of the 13th Sikh Light Infantry are expressing deep grief and anger over the incident, while the Indian Army leadership is completely silent to comment on the incident. Defence experts say that this is not the first time that firing has taken place between different units of the Indian Army based on a misunderstanding.

Experts also believe that the growing panic, sectarian division and internal tension in the Indian forces not only reveal the weaknesses of the Indian defence system but such incidents could also be a precursor to a possible false flag operation or malicious strategy.

Meanwhile, Pakistani defence officials say that the Pakistan Army is fully equipped to give a decisive and effective response to any kind of aggression.
