ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar contacted the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, to brief him on the grave regional situation following recent Indian attacks.
According to details, the OIC secretary general reiterated the organization’s steadfast support for Pakistan, a founding member of the OIC. The foreign office spokesperson said that Dar informed the secretary general that the Indian attacks constitute a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and are tantamount to an act of war. He stressed that innocent civilians have been martyred in these attacks, posing a serious threat to regional peace and stability. Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continue efforts to safeguard the rights of Muslims in India and Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack. Expressing deep sorrow, Taha extended his heartfelt condolences over the loss of innocent lives and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured. He also reiterated the OIC’s unwavering solidarity with the Kashmiri people and stressed the need for a just and lasting resolution to the Kashmir dispute in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
