Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has said that PTI founder Imran Khan has decided that the party will not participate in by-elections, where results are predetermined.

Talking to a private TV channel (Geo News), Salman Akram Raja said that Imran Khan has given clear instructions to resign from all standing committees and not to participate in elections that are devoid of transparency. He said that PTI will no longer be a part of political intrigues and show-offs.

He said, “This is a system built on lies; there is only one law running here, and that is the law of coercion.” He further said that raids are being carried out on the homes of party members, arrests are being made, so it has been decided to boycott the system in protest by separating from the standing committees.

Salman Akram Raja said regarding his meeting with Imran Khan, “It is my legal right to meet him because I am his lawyer in several cases. However, his family members have not been allowed to meet him for 3 to 4 months. Some legal advice was required today, but the hearing was suddenly postponed.”

He, quoting Imran Khan, said, “The greatest strength is spiritual and moral strength, while physical strength is the least.” Talking about the current organisational situation of PTI, he said, “Today the party is more organised and stronger than before, but the government’s attitude is contrary to the democratic environment.”

On the other hand, talking about the ongoing flood situation in the country, Salman Akram Raja said, “The entire country, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is facing a natural disaster and it should be confronted with a collective strategy, but it is regrettable to say that the government is not serious about reducing political tension, which is causing losses to the country.”
