PESHAWAR: The death toll from nearly five days of rain across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen to four, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said on Monday.
The PDMA released its report that excessive rainfall led to various incidents of houses collapse and overwhelmed the natural drainage systems and saturated flood basins.
The PDMA, in its report, said that three men and one woman died due to roof collapses and other rain-related incidents. Of the nine injured, four were children, three were women, and two were men, the report said.
The rains damaged 14 houses, with 10 partially affected and three completely destroyed.
Incidents occurred in Haripur, Battagram, Bajaur, Upper and Lower Kohistan, Dir, Hangu, Khyber, and Torghar, it added.
The PDMA has directed district administrations to assist affected families and provide the best medical care to the injured.
Authorities are also working to clear highways blocked by rain and snowfall.
