French expert Jaffrelot: Pakistan outmatched India militarily and diplomatically, urges Delhi rethink

A French political scientist, Christophe Jaffrelot, has stated that India needs to fundamentally change its view of Pakistan. He argues that Pakistan has demonstrated superiority over India across multiple fronts.

Speaking from Paris, Jaffrelot suggested India’s past perception of Pakistan as weak was a significant mistake. He pointed to recent tensions between the two countries, claiming Pakistan’s modern Chinese weaponry and defense strategy effectively shifted the balance.

Jaffrelot praised Pakistan’s war preparations as thorough and well-coordinated. He emphasized that Pakistan is not only a nuclear power but has also become exceptionally strong due to support from China, making it a formidable opponent.

The political scientist also issued a warning regarding the Indus Waters Treaty. He stated that if India attempts to use the treaty aggressively as a “weapon of war,” it must remember Pakistan’s nuclear capability and its readiness to deliver a swift and powerful response to any provocation.

Jaffrelot concluded that India must adjust its stance because Pakistan currently holds an advantage in political, defense, and diplomatic arenas.
