PESHAWAR: Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Monday said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s upper parts are likely to experience heavy rain and snowfall from tomorrow, Tuesday.
According to PDMA, westerly winds will enter the upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the night of March 24, which will cause rain and snowfall from March 25 to 27.
Wind, thunderstorms and snowfall in the mountains are likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Mansehra, Buner, Peshawar, Karak, Kohat and other areas.
PDMA has issued a letter to the district administration, directing them to ensure the availability of machinery to deal with any untoward incident.
The public has been advised to stay away from power lines, dilapidated buildings and signboards, while farmers have been advised to take measures according to the weather conditions.
Tourists and locals have been directed to take precautionary measures and seek information from PDMA’s helpline 1700 before travelling.
