ABBOTTABAD: The Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) has launched a special cleanliness drive to preserve the natural beauty of the tourist destination. On the directives of the KP Chief Secretary and the GDA DG, sanitation work is underway at tourist spots.

A special cleanliness campaign has been formally launched in Galiyat on the instructions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Mr. Shahab Ali Shah and Director General of the Galiyat Development Authority (GDA), Mr. Shahrukh Ali. The campaign aims to ensure a clean, healthy, and welcoming environment at major tourist destinations in the region, preserving its natural beauty and enhancing the visitor experience.

According to DG GDA Shahrukh Ali, sanitation operations have been intensified at popular tourist spots such as Mushkpuri Top, Nathia Gali, trekking routes, and other frequented areas. Sanitation staff have been assigned specific tasks, and regular waste collection is being carried out to maintain cleanliness.

The Director General further stated that the initiative is crucial in light of the growing tourism in Galiyat. “This campaign is a timely and necessary step. It will not only improve the local environment but is also expected to attract more tourists,” he added.

The GDA has appealed to the public and visitors to cooperate by disposing of waste only in designated areas and contributing to a cleaner and greener Galiyat.
