Gandapur expresses displeasure over ignoring KP in Dar’s Kabul visit

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has expressed displeasure for ignoring the provincial government during the Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar’s Kabul visit last week.

CM Gandapur claimed that the details of the Pak-Afghan negotiations and agreements were not shared with the KP government.

“The negotiations are welcome, but leaving the provincial government is not right as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the biggest stakeholder in the Pak-Afghan negotiations”, CM said.

CM said that we also had sent TORs to the federal government for holding talks with Afghanistan, but there was no response, adding that the details of the Pak-Afghan negotiations and agreements made during Dar’s visit were not disclosed to them.

“If the federal government allow us to send a jirga to Kabul, it will yield significant results in bringing peace. Afghan refugees should be sent away with dignity and avoid any inhumane manner, which will also cause provocation,” CM added.

It is worth mentioning here that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had visited Kabul last week, where he held talks with the ruling Taliban officials and discussed the issues that are creating mistrust between the two neighbouring countries.
