Gandapur slams JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl & his party lawmakers hold “fake mandate”

LAHORE: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP Chief Minister CM Ali Amin Gandapur launched sharp criticism at Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman during a PTI meeting in Lahore on Sunday, while announcing a new political movement.

Addressing party leaders at a Raiwind Road farmhouse, Gandapur declared: *”Today we start a movement from Lahore. Whenever a movement begins here, it succeeds across Pakistan.” He framed the action as practical steps driven by consultation, aimed at freeing PTI founder Imran Khan, whom he called “innocent” and held without valid cases.

Gandapur reserved his harshest remarks for Maulana Fazlur Rehman, responding to the JUI chief’s recent suggestion for internal change within PTI in KP. “It would be great if Maulana Fazlur Rehman brought change within himself instead of talking about change in KP,” Gandapur retorted. He dismissed Fazl’s electoral legitimacy, claiming: “Maulana has one MNA and two MPAs on merit; the rest are on Form 47. He himself holds a fake mandate. The people have rejected him.” Gandapur attributed Fazl’s loss in his own constituency to “misleading the people.”

The KP CM also addressed rally permissions, stating: “I will thank the Punjab government if they allow my constitutional right to hold a rally in Lahore – and even give them a gift.” This followed Fazl’s earlier press conference in Peshawar where he suggested any change in KP should come from within PTI.
