ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has stated that the 90-day protest ultimatum announced by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is his personal opinion, not the party’s official policy.
Speaking on Samaa TV, Raja said PTI’s strategy is linked to the events of August 5 (a reference to PTI founder Imran Khan’s arrest last year) and that the party is focused on raising public awareness. He emphasized that Pakistan has been facing a political and constitutional crisis for decades, and the only way forward is through a collective struggle.
Raja also expressed concerns over the judiciary, stating that faith in the justice system has weakened. He added that if PTI founder’s sons return to Pakistan, they have the right to join their father’s political struggle.
Earlier, Ali Amin Gandapur had announced a 90-day protest movement in Lahore, calling it a decisive movement. However, PTI Punjab President Alia Hamza questioned the strategy behind such a move.
