Gas price hike for industries, power sector from July 1st

Kohat Gas and water shortages

The federal government has officially increased gas prices for bulk consumers, the power sector, and industrial units, effective July 1, 2025.

According to a government notification, household gas tariffs will remain unchanged; however, fixed monthly charges for domestic consumers have been raised.

There is no change in gas prices for tandoors, the commercial sector, general industry, CNG stations, cement, and fertilizer sectors.

The price adjustment is aimed at reducing the subsidy burden and improving financial recovery in the energy sector. However, the industrial and power sectors are likely to face increased operational costs as a result of the revised rates.
