ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zedong revealed that as part of a comprehensive 2025-2029 action plan to strengthen political trust, trade relations, and people-to-people cooperation, China will train 3,000 Pakistani students and youth.
Chines Ambassador Jiang highlighted the historic and ironclad friendship between the two countries, quoting Chinese President Xi Jinping. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also reaffirmed the deep-rooted bond, pledging full protection for Chinese projects and personnel in Pakistan.
According to details, the new action plan includes upgrades to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Phase 2.0 and Free Trade Agreement (FTA), along with the opening of the new Gwadar Airport for commercial flights. The C-Water desalination plant is operational, and industries in the Rashakai Special Economic Zone have commenced production. Pakistani beef, seafood, and fruits are gaining popularity in Chinese markets.
China has already trained 1,000 Pakistani agricultural youth, with plans to train an additional 3,000 students between 2025 and 2029.
Furthermore, Pakistan’s remote sensing satellite was launched by China, and infrastructure projects including the modernization of the Khunjerab-Sost Pass and Karakoram Highway will be accelerated. Comprehensive development of Gwadar Port and projects in health, education, and disaster management will also be enhanced.
Ambassador Jiang pledged cooperation on 10 million kilowatts of solar and wind power projects and emphasized expanding educational, youth, and cultural exchanges.
Ambassador affirmed China’s commitment to prioritize the welfare of the Pakistani people. Both countries will continue to jointly defend global justice, the United Nations system, and the rights of developing nations.
