In Google Apps, Google Maps is the top choice for users seeking travel information, routes, and places. A new and exciting feature called “Your Recent Places” is being introduced, allowing users to easily view and search for locations they have visited in recent days. Previously, users had to navigate through various menus within the app to find their visit history; now, this information will be readily accessible.
This new section will be located in the “You” tab of Google Maps, positioned above “Your lists.” It will display details of recent trips that users can access immediately. Additionally, four main filters will be available: area, category, saved, and maps history. Selecting a category will reveal more specific sub-filters, such as food and drink, culture, shopping, and hotels, making it easier than ever to locate specific places.
Each location entry will feature a bookmark icon alongside a three-dot menu. Users can save any location to a list using the bookmark, while the three-dot menu will provide options for sharing, viewing more details, and deleting items from history. This allows users to organise their visit history and share or bookmark places with others.

Overall, this new feature is more accessible and convenient than the existing “Timeline” feature in Google Maps, which was hidden deeper within the app. In contrast, “Your Recent Places” will be immediately visible and user-friendly.
