Government launches policy to provide mobile phones on easy installments
Federal Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja has announced that the government is preparing a policy under which mobile phones will be made available to the public on easy instalments so that everyone can become a part of the digital world.

Addressing a function at the Pak-China Friendship Centre, she said that this initiative is part of the government’s vision under which modern technology is being used to promote knowledge, skills and education.

She said that connecting youth, especially girls and women, with science and technology is the need of the hour. The government is trying to provide new opportunities to the youth in the field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
Shaza Fatima, while mentioning the ongoing digital training programs, said that one lakh youth were trained in one year under “DG Skills” while the target for this year is to provide training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to one million children.
He further said that all public places are being made safe to enable women to play a full role in national development.
