Governor Kundi condoles with family of slain lawyer in Charsadda

Governor Kundi blamed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for the deteriorating law and order situation in Bajaur and KP, accusing the former ruling party of "handing over a peaceful province to extremists."

CHARSADDA :Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi visited the family of Asim Shaheed Advocate, a young lawyer allegedly killed by police firing ten days ago, to offer condolences. During his visit, Governor Kundi met with Asim’s father, Mian Mohsin Shah Kakakhel, and other grieving relatives.

The Governor emphasized the need for a thorough judicial inquiry into the incident, stating that while police have been accused of the murder, the truth would be uncovered through a transparent investigation. He confirmed that an FIR has been registered against former Station House Officer (SHO) Behrmand Shah in connection with the advocate’s death.

Governor Kundi also addressed broader security concerns, affirming the provincial government’s unwavering support for security forces and opposing any negotiations with armed groups that challenge the state. “We cannot go along with those who do not believe in Pakistan and the Constitution,” he stated, adding that terrorists “neither negotiate nor leave the country; they carry out attacks.”

On fiscal matters, the Governor highlighted the necessity of the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award for the province, noting that the official population had reached 5.5 million. He mentioned that the NFC meeting was delayed due to recent floods but stressed its importance for the province’s financial stability.
