Governor Kundi highlights youth’s role in tackling climate change

Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, emphasized the vital role of the younger generation in addressing climate change during a meeting with a delegation from the National Youth Council Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led by Tariq Shah. Other members of the delegation included Farishta Noor, Shahid Khan, Fatima Faraz, and Bushra Afridi.

Governor Kundi noted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has the highest proportion of youth in Pakistan and highlighted that corruption and terrorism have severely impacted the province’s young population. He stated that the provincial government’s incompetence has exacerbated the sense of deprivation among youth, making it one of his top priorities to address this issue.

Furthermore, he mentioned that he is in communication with the Prime Minister of Pakistan to tackle the challenges faced by the youth and stressed the necessity for effective measures to meet their expectations. The Governor also pointed out the difficulties faced by youth in the merged districts (formerly FATA), expressing concern over the rising frustration due to their lack of access to basic facilities.
