PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday rejected calls for Governor’s Rule or military operations in the province, emphasizing the need for national unity and full implementation of the existing National Action Plan (NAP) to combat terrorism.
Speaking to media in Peshawar, Kundi described the province’s security situation as “very worrying” but insisted that peace could only be achieved through political and public collaboration, not military action. He dismissed the need for a new National Action Plan II, urging instead for the effective execution of the current plan.
Kundi also highlighted the role of Afghanistan in Pakistan’s terrorism challenges, calling for stricter border controls and cooperation from the Afghan government to prevent its soil from being used against Pakistan. He expressed concern over the closure of the Torkham border, stating it has exacerbated the situation.

Kundi reiterated that political parties, the military, and the public must unite to make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a safe and peaceful province.
