Govt moves to transform FC into nationwide federal force

ISLAMABAD: To keep the frontier constabulary more vigilant and prepapre for emergency, government has been decided to shift the headquarters of the Federal Constabulary from Peshawar to Islamabad.

The Federal Interior Minister has directed the identification of land for the headquarters of the Federal Constabulary and a master plan for the new headquarters has also been sought.

An important meeting was held at the CDA headquarters under the chairmanship of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in which Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry also attended.

In addition, the Federal Secretary of the Interior, Commandant and Deputy Commandant of the Federal Constabulary, Chairman CDA, IG Islamabad, DC Islamabad and senior officials also attended the meeting.

Mohsin Naqvi said that a suitable place should be allocated in the capital for the headquarters of the Federal Constabulary, and that the needs of the headquarters and training should be taken into special consideration while identifying the land.

The Federal Interior Minister said that he wants to build the Federal Constabulary on modern foundations and make it a well-organized and highly functional force.
