ISLAMABAD: Barrister Aqeel Malik, Federal Advisor on Law and Justice and senior PML-N leader, has revealed that jailed PTI leaders have sent a formal letter to the government requesting negotiations.

Speaking on Hum News’ program Faisla Aap Ka, Malik stated that the imprisoned PTI members have “realized the situation” and are now seeking a political resolution. However, he made it clear that talks cannot proceed unless PTI’s leadership publicly apologizes for the May 9 riots.

Malik emphasized that the government currently holds a strong position and that the PTI’s outreach indicates a willingness for dialogue. He suggested that this move could pave the way for a political settlement if the conditions are met.
