RIYADH: The Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) had previously announced its Ramazan operational plan, which included 1.6 million seats and 3,400 trips.
To handle the increased number of Umrah pilgrims during the last 10 days of Ramazan, an additional 130 daily trips were introduced.
According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Haramain High Speed Railway enhanced its station gate capacity from 8 to 24 and introduced two new terminals for arrivals and departures to improve the passenger experience during this peak period.
Additionally, complimentary transport services were provided for elderly passengers and individuals with special needs, ensuring easier access between the station and the Prophet’s Mosque.
The Haramain High Speed Railway, one of the top 10 fastest electric railways in the world, operates at 300 km/h and serves as a key transportation link between Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, King Abdulaziz International Airport, and King Abdullah Economic City.
