PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has requested the Education Department for cooperation regarding immunization in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) has written a formal letter asking the Education Department to play a role in highlighting the importance of immunization through parents, teachers and community forums.
It has been decided to use social media, parent-teacher meetings and other means to create awareness among the public. Health experts have termed this initiative as very important and have said that immunization is very important to protect children from diseases.
According to the Education Officer and EPI officials, awareness will also be created in schools to ensure vaccination of children. An awareness campaign will be launched to eliminate misconceptions so that parents can vaccinate their children without fear.
The Education Department has appealed to parents and teachers to cooperate fully in this national campaign so that children can be protected from deadly diseases.
