KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a heavy rain warning for Karachi, predicting intense rainfall from late tonight through the day.
Chief Meteorologist stated that a strong low-pressure system has formed, likely to bring heavy to very heavy showers in parts of the city. “The system is expected to become active around 2am tonight and may continue throughout the day,” he said.
He added that such a powerful system is unusual for September, and authorities are closely monitoring its progression to determine whether it will cause significant rainfall or pass with minimal impact.
Residents have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions, as the weather could trigger urban flooding and disrupt daily activities.
