The Meteorological Department has issued a warning that a new series of rains is expected to begin in various parts of the country starting August 23, likely continuing for several days.
According to the department, thundershowers are anticipated in the upper and central regions from August 23 to 27. Additionally, rain is expected to persist in most areas of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is predicted in various locations from August 23 to 26, while several cities in Islamabad and Punjab are also expected to experience rain from August 23 to 27.
Heavy rains are forecasted in many areas of Sindh and eastern and southern Balochistan from August 27 to 29. Between August 23 and 26, some parts of Sindh and Balochistan may experience light to moderate rain.
Light to moderate rain and thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds, are likely in scattered locations such as Chitral (Upper and Lower), Dir (Upper and Lower), Swat, Buner, Malakand, Shangla, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Battagram, Kohistan (Upper and Lower), Kolai Pallas, Bajaur, and Torghar districts.

Additionally, light to moderate rain and thundershowers with gusty winds may occur in isolated areas, including Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Mohmand, Khyber, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Kurram, Orakzai, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, D.I. Khan, Tank, and North and South Waziristan districts.
