MANSEHRA: Flash floods triggered by heavy rains have severely hit the Baffa area of Mansehra, causing widespread damage and emergencies.
Rivers and canals overflowed, sending floodwaters into residential areas. The deluge submerged streets, damaged homes and shops, and swept away several vehicles. Local sources report that a number of people are also feared to have been swept away.
Rescue operations by teams from Rescue 1122 are facing significant challenges due to severe waterlogging on the roads and power outages in the area. Meanwhile, heavy rains and thunderstorms continue in Mansehra, raising fears of further flooding and damage.
