GOC Major General Neknam Muhammad Baig, DIG Bannu Sajjad Khan, DC Zeeshan Abdullah, tribal elders, and members of the Peace Committee attended the event
A significant grand jirga was held in Lakki Marwat to address the law and order situation and regional issues. The event was attended by GOC Major General Neknam Muhammad Baig, DIG Bannu Sajjad Khan, Brigadier Imran, DPO Muhammad Jawad Ishaq, and Deputy Commissioner Zeeshan Abdullah, along with other senior officials.
Elders from Marwat Qaumi Jirga, Aba Shaheed Khel, Musi Khel, Betani, and Ranra Jirga, as well as members of the Peace Committee, participated actively. The chief guest was traditionally presented with a turban by Haji Hidayatullah Khan, an elder from the Ranra Jirga.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Afterwards, the Secretary of Marwat Qaumi Jirga, Maulana Samiullah Mujahid, welcomed the participants and praised RPO Bannu Sajjad Khan’s effective actions against drugs and other criminal activities.
While addressing the jirga, GOC Major General Neknam Muhammad Baig stated that maintaining peace and order is not solely the responsibility of security forces, but a collective duty of the entire nation. He emphasized that the state will not allow anyone to impose their agenda through force and assured the public of the provision of peace and basic facilities.
The elders informed the GOC about the region’s core issues and concerns, to which he gave full assurance of resolution, stating that all points raised would be brought to the attention of the relevant authorities.
