The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Department has set up a well-equipped ‘holding camp’ at Landi Kotal, near the Torkham border, to assist Afghan refugees being repatriated following the expiration of the government’s deadline for voluntary return.
Arrangements for the return of registered and illegal Afghan refugees across the country have been completed.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Department has set up holding camps in cooperation with the district administration.
The Additional Chief Secretary Home Department visited the holding camp established at Landi Kotal in Khyber for the honorable return of Afghan refugees.
On this occasion, the Director General of PDMA was also accompanied by the ACS. The Additional Chief Secretary Home Department reviewed the facilities and arrangements at the holding camp.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Relief, PDMA, FIA, NADRA and other relevant department officers and officials were also with him.
The Deputy Commissioner Khyber gave a detailed briefing to the ACS Home Department about the facilities and services provided in the camp and informed that ACC cardholders and foreigners from across the country will go to Afghanistan via Torkham from the Landi Kotal Holding Camp.
In addition to the district administration, the camp will include officials of PDMA, NADRA, FIA and law enforcement agencies.
