Hot weather to persist until evening rainfall

Hot, dry weather likely to prevail over most parts of KP: PDMA

ISLAMABAD: Mainly hot and dry weather is expected across most parts of the country, with extremely hot conditions likely in the plain areas.

However, partly cloudy skies with chances of dust/thunderstorms and isolated rainfall are expected in northeast and south Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper and southeastern Sindh, northeast Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Morning temperatures recorded in major cities were as follows:
Islamabad 26°C, Lahore 34°C, Karachi 30°C, Peshawar and Muzaffarabad 25°C, Quetta 22°C, Gilgit 16°C, and Murree 21°C.

For Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the forecast predicts partly cloudy weather with chances of rain and thunderstorms in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramulla, while Jammu is expected to remain hot and partly cloudy.

Morning temperatures in the region were:
Srinagar and Anantnag 16°C, Jammu 30°C, Leh 7°C, Pulwama 15°C, Shopian 14°C, and Baramulla 19°C.
