The cold war between Hafeez and Ramiz began after the 2019 World Cup. Ramiz suggested that Hafeez and Shoaib Malik should no longer play for Pakistan.
Hafeez had responded by saying that Ramiz’s cricket knowledge was below his 12-year-old son Roshan’s level.
Recently, a statement by Hafeez went viral. He criticized Pakistan’s 90s players, saying they left no legacy and won no ICC events.
