PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has accused the federal government of discriminatory treatment towards the province, alleging that elected representatives are being disqualified without justification and their rights curtailed.
Addressing the media on Sunday, Gandapur claimed that corruption cases from past governments are being used to target the current KP administration. He said the Kohistan scandal is a federal matter, yet responsibility is being shifted to the province.
Highlighting the province’s economic performance, the CM stated that over the past 17 months, KP generated more than Rs 250 billion in revenue. He said his government inherited a financially strained province burdened with debt and salary payment issues from the interim setup.
Gandapur emphasized that combating terrorism and restoring public trust are top priorities. He announced plans to expand the role of jirgas and base decisions on public opinion, while reaffirming that the sacrifices of police and military personnel will be honored and remembered.
