5Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly denied rumors about President Asif Ali Zardari’s removal from office. Speaking to media in Sukkur, Naqvi dismissed social media speculation, urging, “Do not pay attention to such news.”
Naqvi highlighted Pakistan’s political unity, stating the country’s political leadership and military establishment are “on the same page” for the first time in history – a development he said troubles certain unnamed elements spreading false narratives.
The minister also addressed national security, confirming 27,000 Muharram processions were held across Pakistan, with Sukkur hosting the largest gathering of 1 million people. He praised law enforcement for ensuring peaceful observances.
On counter-terrorism, Naqvi vowed to “completely eliminate extremist threats” and declared security forces had “defeated terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” with joint operations ongoing to eradicate terrorism nationwide
